The Security Council of the Republic of Armenia hold a regular meeting in Yerevan, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The meeting approved Armenia’s National Security Strategy, in addition to discussing other security-related issues. In that context, Prime Minister Pashinyan delivered a message, in which he presented the National Security Strategy, the national values of the Armenian people and the national goals.
According to the Prime Minister, the national goals include; – Providing the prerequisites necessary for the eternity of the Armenian statehood: ideological, security-related, public, political, legal, economic, demographic, international, educational, intellectual, cultural and institutional; International recognition of Artsakh’s right to self-determination without any restriction; International recognition of the Armenian Genocide, overcoming and eliminating its consequences; ensuring security, = freedom and well-being for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, as well as protecting and promoting other fundamental rights. Equality of all before the law, equality of men and women, equal access for women and men to opportunities available in public, state and economic life, as well as achieving national unity and cohesion through strict enforcement of civic rights and duties,
Preservation and development of our national and sovereign identity by safeguarding the independence, and sovereignty of the Armenian people; including the restoration and development of national identity among those Armenians who have lost, or who seem to be on the verge of giving up their ethnic self-consciousness, including the knowledge of language. pan-Armenian potential around the realization of national goals for the preservation and development of national values.

The national goals of the Armenian nation are:
– Ensuring the ideological, security, social, political, legal, economic, demographic, international, educational, intellectual and cultural institutional conditions necessary for the perpetuity of the Armenian state hood; – International recognition of Artsakh’s right to self-determination without any restriction;
– International recognition of the Armenian Genocide, overcoming and eliminating its consequences; Securing and protecting Armenian citizens’ rights to security, prosperity, liberty, and happiness, as well as universal rights
– Guaranteeing equality before the law, equality between women and men, equal opportunities for women and men to partake in social, administrative, and economic activities, and ultimately affirming national unity through the protection of rights and fulfillment of duties; – Protecting and developing the national and state identity, autonomy, and sovereignty of the Armenian people, including the restoration and development of identity among Armenians whose national self-awareness has waned or is waning, through substantially increasing the level of Armenian language proficiency among all Armenians, as well as those who hold Armenian citizenship; – Consolidating the Pan-Armenian potential around the national goals, as well as preserving and developing the national values.
– Guaranteeing quality of all before the law, equality between women and men, equal opportunities for women and men to partake in social, administrative, and economic activities, and ultimately affirming national unity through the protection of rights and fulfillment of duties;
– Protecting and developing the national and state identity, autonomy and sovereignty of the Armenian people, (including the restoration of national identity and development of identity among Armenians whose national self-awareness has waned or is waning, through substantially increasing the level of Armenian language proficiency among all Armenians, as well as those who hold Armenian citizenship;
– Consolidating the pan-Armenian potential around the national goals, as well as preserving and developing the national values.

6.6 The low level of women’s participation in various areas of social and political life, especially in state governance-prevent Armenia from fully utilizing its human capital towards national security and sustainable development. The state shall therefore, make sure to grant equal rights, opportunities, and conditions to women and men, as well as stimulate the integration and participation of women in political decision-making.
