During the regular session of the National Assembly-Civil Society Platform today we discussed “State support programs for the improvement of the demographic situation and childcare”.
The representatives of the civil society present at the meeting voiced the legislative gaps in the field. We discussed issues of improving the child care institute, the importance of nanny institute, the need to introduce a child-work-integration mechanism, differentiated approaches to benefits for rural and urban women; mechanisms for mitigating corruption risks related to benefits, etc
The meeting was organized within the framework of the “Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia” project, funded by the UK Good Governance Fund and the Government of Sweden, and implemented by UNDP in partnership with the OxYGen Foundation, International Center for Human Development, and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy.
