By the decision of the RA Prime Minister, Narine Khachaturyan (Tukhikyan) was relieved of the post of Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, which she held from June 2019.

It should be reminded that before that, in September 2018, Narine Khachaturyan was elected a member of the Yerevan Council of Elders, then after the parliamentary elections held in December 2018, she became a member of the “My Step” parliamentary faction of the RA National Assembly. Five months later, on May 31, 2019, she resigned, and then was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture.

In the ministry, Khachaturyan was particularly responsible for the museum sector. Back in November 2020, the news about her resignation appeared in the media, which she later partially confirmed. In her words, she was really going to resign, but there were several cases related to the preservation of Artsakh’s cultural heritage, and after completing them, she would decide what to do.

It should be noted that on the eve of her resignation, an unpleasant incident took place in the Artists’ Union with the participation of the deputy minister. During the exhibition, when a journalist tried to interview her, a woman from the cultural sphere approached her and publicly embarrassed, calling her a “representative of the traitorous government.”
